Reasons for joining the company

After graduation, I worked in a warehouse-related admin position and also in a sales position for foodstuff. However, as a result of my experience working part-time in manufacturing in Panasonic during my student days, I had a strong desire to work in manufacturing. Through the referral of an associate, I attended a briefing conducted by UT Pabec (old Panasonic National Battery Engineering Co., Ltd.) and decided to join the company as I felt that I could realize my dream there.

My first years in the company

At the time when I first joined the company, I was in-charge of manufacturing coin-type lithium primary batteries where there were many female part-time workers. While I felt a little insecure working in a big company like Panasonic, I was grateful for being able to work in a manufacturing environment and learn about my work. Although I started out as a contract staff, I managed to become a permanent employee in my second year.

Turning point in my management career

Although my position does not involve management, I was able to get involved in management work in my second year onwards, providing me with invaluable experience in leading my own team. I experienced managing a maximum of around 50 staff and learned many things in the process. I was responsible for the manufacturing of several types of batteries and I always put in my best efforts in my work. When I was working in the dry cell business unit, I was promoted to the position of supervisor under the recommendation of my superiors who watched over me carefully.
Recently, I have been putting efforts into the development of juniors as the number of male workers younger than me has been increasing. While it may be tough at times, I am glad to be able to watch them grow.

Interesting aspects of my work

There are also times when I have to work on my rest days when machine problems arise. However, the biggest attraction is the sense of achievement in resolving a problem on my own through trial and error. I think this work is irresistable to those who like machine work in manufacturing operations.
This is a job full of appeal that allows you to get involved in the production of everyday necessities like batteries etc.
